Pet-sthetics: Coming To A Home Near You
A recent article shared by Redecor, linked here, discussed their survey that found that 78% of respondents consider aesthetics when buying pet accessories, making significant home décor choices based on their relationships with their pets.
Pet ownership and care has proven benefits including creating a sense of responsibility, establishing an emotional connection, and building mutual dependence. As pets have become integral parts of human households, they have not only affected our daily routines but also our family dynamics. The living spaces we share must be functional for both owner and pet, with the owner bearing significant responsibility in providing for necessities. This, inevitably, includes factoring their pet’s lifestyle into how they curate their homes. These purchasing decisions can range from large pet accessories that may stand out in your home such as dog crates and cat litter boxes to your living room couch, which must also withstand the rigors of a pet’s use. The survey also covers topics such as design choices, pricing, and household rules for pets and is worth a quick read if you’re a loving pet owner. Perhaps you will agree with the respondents or be shocked by some of their other findings!
At East Mission, we believe that aesthetic pet toys have lagged behind these trends, creating an opportunity to rethink the current market offerings. As toys play a significant role in the daily routine of dog owners, their widespread use throughout your house is often a disappointing eye-sore. From overly bright colors to odd shapes to confusing characters and non-relevant subject matter, dog toys often give the impression of cheap, gaudy children’s toys. This is not an acceptable solution for many who value their lifestyle while having to cater to all their family members. If you support our mission in designing the most beautiful collection of pet toys, please sign up for our newsletter and show your support.
